They take over unused land and make anthills.
During spring and summer they take over unused land and make lots of anthills. During those two seasons are when most flowers try to bloom and more insects and animals come out after a long winter. Due to anthills, they don’t allow new flowers to come in, limiting the vegetation doesn’t come in. But, a benefit they do is that new animals come in to use that area and they create a whole new environment with different animals and insects. They also nest under rocks, patio blocks, and firewood piles. With all of these different areas that they nest in there are different kinds of insects and they create a new niche.
